Calico in Covid Times - Newsletter Spring 2021

Hi Everyone!  I have been a little pre-occupied with Covid times as has my human pet parent!!!

It certainly is lovely to have her home more often, so I can take advantage of the extra care and attention, the pampering, she is always at my beck-and-call.πŸ’œπŸ’Ÿ

I certainly to feel like Queen these days!!!!πŸ’œπŸ‚½πŸ‚½

She will even grow cat grass for me, each morning, I jump onto the windowsill on my vet's fleece (it is so cozy...and wait for the sunshine to creep around.

To bring in the bright sun!  It wonderful to take your time to wash your face and get those whiskers all shinny and clean!

Cat grass takes time to germinate (geez), those funny looking oat grass in the black soil.  I've been told not poke or disturb them....it's just too tempting....(LOL)πŸ˜‹.  She waters it every three days, and I look for the little sprouts to appear.....sooner or later little green soots poke up. Then they become junior blades of grass (I tell her no she can't have any, for her human salad LOL).

I actually had a visitor in the window ledge outside, a  (delicious looking) beautiful pigeon with grey body and pink markings.  Luckily she didn't see me.....as I stalked her through the glass windowpane. When she wasn't looking I would creep behind her and pounce with my big baseball paws.  Maine Coon cats have them, so it's been a valuable asset to have.  To my dismay, she flew off out of harm's way...I expect she will be back though as they also like to glean in the afternoon sun!

Well, in these Covid times, I've been doing a lot of sleeping, playing with catnip mice, dreaming about stories to write on my blog post.  Chasing my human, sleeping on my new flannel shirt (believe me you don't want to share of move so cozy). Inspecting the dwelling where I live in the morning and before bedtime.   Yep they call me "Miss Sherlock".   (My pet parent has been reading a truly 'thrilling book, that as she says like being on a roller coaster of suspense called "Secret Sky" by J.P. Mclean - Author, a great Canadian ....check it out)!   I've often caught my pet after midnight reading, then my breakfast is really late!

Living in a busy urban city, there is lots to see and do...we have mechanical cranes in the distance, not the ones that I prefer that fly and might make a nice stew!  I'll have to speak to my cat mum about that!

I'm a Calico Red Patch-Tabby, with infusions Calico white big tummy and white socks and paws, and a sprinkle of Maine Coon for good measure.

My new human friend Kris told me about I am likely to be a red patch tabby, as she operates  a cat rescue organization.   So much fun to learn about cat-gen-etics!!

Doog Days of Summer August 2016 - Be Cool Like Me.

Doog....Days of Summer - Aug 2016

Hello Kitten's, Puppies, Humans (excuse me while I PAWS and Stretch):

How COOL I am ...well you know me, I'm always that way.... LOL!!!   Be Cool and reelax...!

No seriously............(just keep those paws very still...and read this)....

Make sure you bother your human parental for a fresh bowl of water in this the "Doog Days of Summer".  You can rattle and flick water all over the floor!!!  It's a heat wave out there.  Did you know in Southern Ontario, it's as hot as the tropics!

Phew it's all I can do but sit here and look out of my perch.  Peering at those  those crazy gulls flying around...it's as dopey as a human running this heat for the sake of 'exercise'.   Look at the friends behind me (Boppie is just standing there as if 'frozen in time'  LOL.   I had better give her a little bit to see if she will react....it's ok we 'ruff house' all time.

Seagull or Pigeon Pie Anyone?
I'm really lucky here lounging in the air conditioning, my pet parent has put the ceiling fan on, and ice cubes in my water bowl.  I have been nibbling at my dry cat food (chicken, duck) ....thinking in my head of the havoc I can do later on....(hunting time midnight).

YES,  SPENT MY ALLOWANCE - then I get MORE
That is when I drive my pet parent crazy....cause she wants to go to bed....well....you know....that's when the PAWS Party starts!!!!   I have all the soft rubber balls all over the house, so I can run from room to room creating havoc wherever I go! LOL.

I'm still Cute...don't you Think!

Never put your 'toys all in one basket', keep those 'huuman guessing' then you have purrfect control!

My pet parent thinks I am eating all the while...I'm 'thinking .    (Smirking....pretending to wash paws and face....) . Now if only I could find a way to grab my the other dishes from the pantry and fill them with water.....then put them on the ceiling fan.   Turn it off, then my parent turns it on she will get soaking when....sure beats the 'sprinkler' effect that you see kids running through.

All for MEEEEE!!!!

Write back to us and tell us what your summer has been like, how you BEAT THE HEAT.

If you do, I will get my pet parent to make you a cat nip pillow, first 5 people to respond please!

Leave your comments in the 'Comment Box' .

YOU Say Salad With THAT?

Hello My Darlings!

Congratulations on making it to the weekend - LOL!

Some of my seasoned readers, will know the reason of such a statement (raising eye brows ...chuckling with mirth).

Walking On The Wild Side

Salad you say: My sources (Internet and human) tell me that Spider Plants are 'non-toxic' for feline and canines. Favoured to be slightly hallucinogenic for cats. Lucky us! (Oh dear ---Paw on head trying to block memory ouch...).    Stick with Spider Pants!

Darlings REMEMBER***:  Don't eat the grass at the park! Pesticides are very harmful to us and should be avoided at ALL costs. Remind your owners to check your mouth and paws (dogs eat anything)!

Chlorophytum Comosum
Spider Plant

SPIDERS PLANTS 101

1) Taste good satisfy my chewing need;
2) The baby plants are sweet and tender;
3) Provide (slightly hallucinogenic) stimulating exercise (especially with a friend during nocturne hours);
Temptation as MY GIFT

4) Aids in digestion or for fur ball help and breath cleanser (embarrassed);

5) A good source of Salad;
6) Pots made adequate trapeze practice

Well YOU left the plant there?

It was MY Understudy!

Theatre talk
I always get the LAST LAUGH!
Break A Leg: means  "Good Luck;  or  "quasso cruris," the Latin equivalent of "break a leg." Some etymologists believe it to be an adaptation from the Yiddish translation into German. The phrase "Hatsloche un Broche" (Χ”Χ¦ΧœΧ—Χ” ΧΧ•ΧŸ Χ‘Χ¨Χ›Χ”) ("success and blessing") had been calqued from the German phrase "Hals- und Beinbruch" ("neck and leg fracture"), because of near similar pronunciation

Well my Darlings, have fun and "Break A Leg" I'm off to fine a plant to eat.......................
