Fall is Finally Here! Newsletter October 2016

Cali glad to be the COOLest Cat!

Well, it was a Purfect....summer.....although I must say
I was fortunate to find my favorite spot has 'air conditioning'.   My human even chills a tea towel in the fridge for a few moments ( I have her trained already - smiling) .  I hear even dogs how have a body vest that you immerse in cold water, then it keeps them cool!
 Mind you it would have to be 'Vogue' or no Vogue for me..if you get my meaning! Or is it this "Diva wears ONLY PRADA" LOL   Have you ever tried to catch mice wearing a fur coat...when it's 90 degrees!!

Oh it's too hot to move......so I won't
I had my human running right and left, while I sat looking at the gulls getting exhausted flying around... I guess diving into bird baths with ice cubes would be too much of a shock......LOL.

You know the best place to chill is the bathtub.....I leave a couple of ping - pong balls there at night..so I can make a racket in the middle of the night. LOL
Laughter or yawning....well you be the judge...LOL

Dear Diva: Cat Optics - Purrspectve

Looking at TWO sides of the coin
 Hello MY  Darlings

Optics is the topic of the week in my featured blog.

I have been learning about this recently on the 'home front'.  Sometimes one has to take their OWN advice when it comes knocking at your door!  Its a bit like splitting yourself in two (ha ha).

Yes, Optics is the KEY

Let me THINK ABOUT that!

Professionally, its often easier said than done (smirking)!

With counselling the optics and the lens is sharp, objective
without any distractions (well that is the aim isn't)?
 I'm quite sure animal psychologists and behaviourists have their own issues too as do humans!

Ok I think I've got it covered
In the human world, they have Dr. Phil and Dr. Joyce Brothers.

I have been learning about many interesting topics:
> Interpersonal relationships - cats;
> The dynamics and challenges of personality types in the feline world;
> Trust and tolerance;
> Dealing with the mind games (intelligence) and clever antics of "Mr. Sammy".

Sammy: I have an OPTICAL MOUSE
Safeguard against poor purrspective, or ruffled whiskers!. A chit-chat, seeking the wisdom of another cat or colleague.  To be shared over a warm dish of milk (not catnip - for this muddles the brain..like when humans drink too much ...wink wink).

I love to walk beside the Lake or go to the country to 'clear the cobwebs of distraction'.
Ness and Blue

Tarpan Horses: Their OWN humour

This brought to mind my experience with them in 2003 in Wales. Full of character. .http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heck_horse

Well, MY Darlings  when it is all said and done. There are times when you simply have to rely on your CAT intuition.. enjoy the quality of life. Let the optics TAKE CARE OF ITSELF.
The way I see it ...(stretching, smirking) meow!

Dear Diva - Feature Question of the Week: Integration of New Family Member

Hello My Darlings!

I have an announcement......

I am adding a "Special Feature" to my blog called "Dear Diva".

I will feature ONE of your favorite questions.  You may send them to the following: divapaws4advise@gmail.com.

The subject today is: Integration and how you introduce and welcome a new family member

Who this New Divo gracing my presence
As with any human relationship, forming them and creating a positive bond takes time. With humans a handshake or a polite "How Do YOU Do" breaks the ice.  Now with feline and canine species this take a little more time... (washes her face with paws and thinks).

According to my resources:
Feline Social Behavior and  Feline  Organization
Domestic cats tend to be solitary. They do not usually form large groups with complex social structures as do dogs. Cats are also very territorial by nature, some more so than others. However because their social organizations is somewhat flexible, some cats are relatively tolerant of sharing their house and territory with multiple cats. It is not uncommon for a cat to tolerate certain other family cats, but not get along with others in the house.The factors that determine how well cats will get along together are not fully understood.

Cats who are well socialized, meaning they had many pleasant experiences with other cats during kitten hood, will likely be more sociable than cats who have not been around many other cats. On the other hand, "street cats' who are in the habit of fighting with other cats in order to defend their territory and food resources, may not do well in a multi-cat household.

Mae West Quote: Too Much of a Good Thing is Wonderful
Getting along is simply a test of 'good manners'.  Having worked in the theatre for many years and dealing with Diva and Divos.  This brings strong personalities together --- often in confined spaces.

The coolest new Divo in town.
I WILL have YOU under MY  spell.

You can still maintain your strong character traits with the new arrival.  A little dignity is sugar of diplomacy. The little nod of the head and a gentle bow will put you ahead in a healthy relationship.

Who knows, you may become best friends, perhaps sharing food!  I'll speak more about this later.'

Wow ...we worked
 through the integration phase.
My Darlings, my word for you today is simply this: 'grace becomes YOU'.

Ciao ......watch out for my next post.........................
