Creature Comforts Getting it Right

 Hello MY Darlings!

As a glance from my writing desk in the Castle, the winter winds are howling like a hound dog bent on catching rabbits. LOL

Lapping on my warm saucer of milk, I began to reflect on "Creature Comforts"...ummm let me see. Cats have the leading edge on this, our ability to attracted to anything soft.

Suspending, around in circles reminiscent of a seasoned Yogi emulating gently cooked spaghetti. LOL
As a kitten, I knew I had to be very commanding. Showing early my character traits: firm, demanding, direct, willful.   Practicing my Opera voice, often shattering the crystal wine glasses.

There seems to be a misconception in the human community, they think they were 'first' to train felines and canines.  On the contrary my ancient ancestors Egyptian_Mau new how to get their humans attention with using their creative voices!

Now I know why I love to sing!

Egyptian Maus:

The spotted Mau is an ancient breed from natural stock; its look has not changed significantly as is evidenced by artwork over 3,000 years old. Unlike other spotted cats such as the Occicat or Bengal cat, the Egyptian Mau is a natural breed.

The Egyptian Mau is the fastest of the domestic cats, with its longer hind legs, and unique flap of skin extending from the flank to the back knee, providing for greater agility and length of stride. Maus have been clocked running over 36 mph (58 km/h). Maus often possess very musical voices. They are known to chirp, chortle and emit other distinctly unusual vocalizations when stimulated.

All I have to do is OPEN my mouth and trill, MY human runs like a mouse responding nicely!!!
Comfort is all YOU need!
I also like to watch my favorite TV show "Sherlock" .He was instrumental in developing my deductive powers of observation!

 "Sherlock"
Sammy was my greatest Hero
I have many cat hero's and heroines who have taught me the value of the important things: (comfort, food and catnip)!!

Darlings, remember to use all  your skills to get just what YOU WANT.  Never give up on your humans, they can always be trained!  A little catnip or "Rescue Remedy" in the humans water or drink be invaluable (snickering). Do this BEFORE they 'drop their eyelids - works all the time. LOL

Human don't need the luxury of comfort as we own it!

Curl up and get cozy!!!!

Easter Parade

Queen Diva: "Happy Easter"

 Hello MY Darlings:

Happy Easter, Happy Spring. What a weekend.....the parade of cats!

I gave my human the weekend off, so I could party in peace.

Well, I continue to assert my power and authority over MY kingdom despite the distractions of the "Roaming Knight Sammy".

He was placed on patrol duty (it give him something to do, and males like that sort of thing -- especially if they think damsels are in need it. -3).

We do have to humour them don't we!  It gives me time to quaff sardines and steal his food (smirking roaring with laughter).

Wading into the archives of MY "Princess" photo's to show Sammy how the parade is orchestrated.    I was watching Downton Abbey, the Dowager Countess, Lady of Grantham is my favorite character. MEOW!

A very cool lady, commanding and definitely knows what she wants. She must have been reading my blog?

Little Princess starts the Easter Parade
I still maintain the upper hand, although "Sammy" struts by and ignores me when I 'hiss' with authority, his eyes tell it all "I couldn't care less, I'm the Alpha male baby".

Wanna be: KING Sammy!

Well, the way I see it he has to earn merit points or "kudos".  I throw it  back "Did I give you permission to SPEAK, WALK or GET CLOSE, did I, did I?

MY Staff know the unwritten RULES.

I want that BALL!

He is a very good hunter and very agile, he wears his face very well. As a method actor, I recognize this.  It is like he has the shutters down?  This is just to throw you off course.  MY human often uses the metaphor of a 'three legged stool'.

The WAITING game
I decided to ravenously  consume MY breakfast, MY staff feed me early as I sip on my warm milk.  Nature has given me keen olfactory senses, I sniff the air pointing my nose left and right.  I pick up his earthy rugged pheromone (from Greek φέρω phero "to bear"), In nature bees have this too, mind you I never get that close to them!!!

Is this a staring out party?

Do I get more rashers (bacon) for this?
As I was getting a little hungry, I ordered him to patrol the outer perimeter of the domain.

So I guess the games begin?

"Anything You Can Do, I CAN DO BETTER"!
Hey Queenie..."NO you Can't"

Diva  remembers her role in "Annie Get Your Gun" by Irving Berlin!

The song is a spirit duet, with one male singer and one female singer attempting to outdo each other in increasingly complex tasks.

During the song, they argue playfully about who can, for example, sing softer, sing higher, sing sweeter, and hold a note for longer, and boast of their abilities and accomplishments, such as opening safes and living on bread and cheese, although Annie always seems to counter Frank's argument. Neither can "bake a pie," though.
Not unless it's 'fish pie'

Two can play the GAME

I MIGHT save you the Crumbs if YOU are LUCKY!

Mr. Sammy usually comes back far too late.  I leave him mini morsels (no more than a cat sneeze - ha ha)

Well, I like to be prepared for anything --- "Improv and Intuition" are MY key traits along with hunting.  To celebrate a friends birthday we saw "Hunger Games" last week. The lead female character "Katniss" (rhymes with 'hiss' was awesome).  I suggest we need more strong female roles in Media and TV.

Well MY Darlings my middle name is "Xena"

Well, MY Darlings we had some lovely sardines after our exciting day, washed down with warm milk...

Happy Easter...........Happy Spring!

Mutual Detente

Hey DIVO!

Hello MY Darlings:

Greetings from the MY cat kingdom!!!

Well it has almost been a month now since “Mr. Arrival” meowed at my door! My kingdom and dimensions are shifting in response to the feline relationship; many tidal pulls as I maintain my hold of supremacy.

I love being the Alpha FEMALE ruling the roost.

Warming up for the "Royal Hiss"
My ‘hissing’ has become like a revolving propeller knocking him off guard, as he passes to get by me acting like a ‘three legged stool’ of surprise. He has the audacity to ignore ME he doesn’t hiss back now, what is that? Has he experienced other divas before me?  As with any male (human or feline) he is supposed to GET IT, has he taken the gloves off completely as an element of surprise – what gives?

What....a acrobatic CAT!
Take the other day, I almost jumped out of my skin myself he was reclining on the communal ‘mat-mat’ watching me as I trotted by.

I picked up speed, moving my white paws in unison, my heart was racing just a little…I’m not used to ‘running’ that is what my servants do.   I could feel his eyes as I passed…just then he lunged at me missing my back feet by two inches.

I forgot to hiss (showing my disapproval)….I simply needed to exit fast. We are at the stage now of professional mutual respect, in any relationship this takes time.  Mutual feline RESPECT!

I've got you numbered Diva -ha ha
"Hey DIVA ...I've got you UNDER MY SPELL"!

I left a little moist food and dry food for him, I had enough….a little peace offering.  I could see that his whiskers were splayed out (enjoyment); the plate was polished bright as a gleaming star in the night sky.  When he is sleeping, I often sniff out his dish for morsels and offerings… LOL.

I really had HER thinking!
"Oh Diva, I'm planning my next move".......LOL

Well My darlings, I’m off to get some cat nap (with one eye open:)
